Memorial Day Has A Meaning To All Of Us

Memorial Day is set aside to remember the brave men and women who gave all, literally laid down their lives for our great country.
In October of 2008 I had the great pleasure of playing a small part in bringing the Centennial Celebration of the Doberman Pinscher to the DPCA National Convention in Topeka KS.

Please take a moment, 5 minutes from your busy day, to watch this video.  It is the finale of the awards ceremony that honored many WWII Veterans.

The Battle Hymn Of The Republic set to the background of the film always brings a tear to my eye and chills of pride for what is still the greatest place on earth to live, The United States Of America.

Thank you to all of our Armed Forces members for your sacrifices to preserve our freedom.

Zeus Makes a Splash Dock Diving!!!!

GCH Dillon's Zipper Ripper CD RA CGC ROM who is also known as our lovable Zeus made a splash in his first North American Dock Diving competition.  On May 13th we took a little trip to Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, GA for some good old fashioned fun in the pool.  Zeus has been happy around water since he was a little pup paddling around the pool in a life vest.  He gets pretty enthusiastic about jumping off a boat into the lake.

NADD requires 5 successful jumps to earn a title in each division.  We had 3 successful jumps that weekend in the Novice division which is distance of up to 10ft.  Over 10ft goes into Junior division.

In the next few weeks we expect to earn that Novice title.  This is a really fun sport for dogs of all breeds.  Excitement and the crowd gets the dogs revved up to jump!

UKC CH Dillon's Live For Today CD BN RA

Congratulations to Susan Habel and UKC CH Dillon's Live For Today, a.k.a. Jax. Susan and Jax earned  their AKC Beginner Novice and AKC Companion Dog titles this weekend in addition to the Rally Obedience titles he already has. Jax is out of GCH Dillon's Evening The Odds Niklby CD RA CGC (Cobby) and Sheeba DiAltobello. Jax is Susan's first performance dog. They have worked very hard and learned from every experience along the way. Jax puts me in mind of his sire every time I see that face and those eyes.

Homes and owners like Susan are a breeder's dream.  It's a perfect match.

Another Champion for Dillon Dobermans!

New Champion for Dillon Dobermans!

DILLON'S EYE OF THE STORM a.k.a Ali, finished her AKC Championship on April 3rd in Concord, NC. She was Reserve to a major at Greater Monroe KC judged by Patti Widick Neale, then went on to finish at DPC of Charlotte Specialty with a BOW Major judged by Fred Schmidtke. Ali is owner handled for all the points by Lou Griffin of Chelsea, AL. Thank you so much Lou for giving it all you got as an owner handler. Big congrats on a job well done.  Many seasoned handlers know it's no easy task to finish a black bitch in the AKC ring if you are an owner/handler.

Ali will be bred in July of this year.  We have several nice studs to choose from.  No matter who the final choice is we are expecting a wonderful litter of healthy pups with great temperaments.

The Story of Cory

July 1, 2002 - January 10, 2016
The most difficult day in many years of Doberman life was January 10, 2016.
Niklby's Special Evening CD RA WAC (Cory) Breed Ring

Cory enjoying life, stopping to smell the flowers
We made the decision to release Cory from her earthly chains.
A dear friend wrote this poem for Cory.
The Story of Cory
"Baby girl so precious and sweet
had Mom's heart from her head to her feet.
Gave life to babies of her own
and now they have all grown.
She led the pack to teach them all
because she knew one day she would fall.
That day has come and all hearts are broken.
But . . . . . Cory will live on with words unspoken!"

She loved her squeaky ball!

Loved the sunshine

A sweet song I never got tired of.

Cooper was her playmate too.  Always gentle with the little ones.
Now she is back in her spot on the couch
