Dillon's Sound Of Distant Thunder (Colt) is a Winner

From my Ruger X Wiley litter, Dillon's Sound Of Distant Thunder is giving the northeast shows a run for their money.  We know his as Colt. This fine young dog is being shown by his owner for the most part, but the help of a pro handler like Cindy Lane-Smith is always appreciated.  There is alot of dog packed into this package.  Colt in top condition due to the efforts of his owners.  In this picture, his latest win at Lorain County KC in Ohio, you can see he is a standard dog with everything in the right places.  Congratulations Cindy, Ray, and Bonnie.  It won't be long before Colt has the Champion initials in front of his name.  You all make me very proud to have bred this litter.

A New Litter for the New Year

Over the last few days I have spent time traveling from Alabama to Iowa and back for a vacation with family from Wisconsin.  Zeus made the trip with me.  He became a good companion for Tramp, my sister's Black Labrador Retriever.   I had time to think about what the next step will be for Dillon Dobermans while driving.
The breeding between Ruger and Wiley produced some beautiful puppies who are well on their way to champions in the show ring and stars in the performance venue.
Zeus and Wiley produced exceptionally nice puppies also but I did not keep one to live in my house.  That is about to change.
The next step is to repeat the breeding of GCH Dillon's Zipper Ripper CD (Zeus) and Dillon's Stroke Of Midnight (Wiley).  As luck would have it, the timing was perfect when I returned from Iowa with Zeus.  Wiley was very glad to see him.  Puppies are due the first week in November.
This is a repeat breeding that is the same pedigree as the May Day Litter.  The puppies should be ready to go for the New Year, 2015.
What a way to ring in the new year!

A Double Header For Dillon Dobermans

News to share and brag just a little:

Chatham, VA: GCH Dillon's Zipper Ripper (Zeus) earned his first working title, AKC Companion Dog with Jayne Isbell training and showing him. The trial was at Agility Club of Chatham, VA with Ted G. McCall judging.
Last weekend at Cape Fear DTC in Fayetteville, NC Zeus earned his first qualifying score with Jayne. Zeus is out of CH Blackjack's Red Sword Of Camelot X Dillon's Midnight Liberty.
For the benefit of those who are not in the Obedience loop, it takes 3 qualifying scores to earn the CD title. Jayne and Zeus did this in only two weeks training. The first Q was earned in only a week's time of training with a judge that is known to have a "very sharp pencil". That says alot about the trainer and the dog in my opinion. Both of them are working as a team.

Oberlin, OH: Dillon's Sound Of Distant Thunder (Colt) from CH Blackjack's Red Sword Of Camelot X Dillon's Stroke Of Midnight took Winners Dog and Best Of Winners today at Lorain County KC judged by Ole C. Nielsen. Colt is owned by Ray and Bonnie DeAngelis and me.
I am so very proud of these accomplishments for Dillon Dobermans.

Boomer and Jayne Reach for the Sky in Greenville, SC

June 7, 2013 is a special day because I whelped a spectacular litter of 6 puppies sired by CH Blackjack's Red Sword of Camelot out of Dillon's Stroke Of Midnight.  The first blue puppy I ever produced was in this litter.  I had named him Boomer the minute he was born.  As he took his first squealing puppy breath a huge crack of lightning split the sky with thunder on its heels.

Boomer at 7 weeks old

On August 17, 2013, I delivered the 10 week old blue puppy dog to Ms. Jayne Isbell.  Jayne had been watching his progress through FaceBook almost since the day he was born.  Jayne and I met at a site that was about half way between my house and hers, The TD Convention Center in Greenville, South Carolina.

As Jayne introduced herself to her new puppy she felt an immediate connection with him.  Thus the journey began.

On July 24th 2014, at the same site where the blue pup and Jayne first laid eyes on each other they accomplished one of Jayne's goals, Owner Handled Best Of Breed.  Below is the quote from the breed alerts that are sent out periodically through the day during the shows:
The breed winner for Doberman Pinscher at Piedmont Kennel Club, Inc., judged by Mrs. Faye Strauss, is dog:

GCH Dillon's Zipper Ripper "Zeus" on a Working Vacation

GCH Dillon's Zipper Ripper "Zeus" is in serious training with Jayne Isbell at her home in North Carolina.  Since completing his Grand Championship Zeus has sired a litter of fine puppies known as the May Day Litter.  That was easy!
Now it's time for him to get back into training for those working titles.  Soon Zeus will be Obedience titled with the help and guidance of Jayne.  Here is the reward Zeus is entitled to after his first day of training.

A New Venue and New Titles for GCH Dillon's Midnight Rambler "Rambo" and Barbara Moyer

So I guess this would fall under the category of "Big Brag". GCH Dillon's Midnight Rambler ROM (CH Niklby's Tamper Proof ROM X Niklby's Special Evening CD RA WAC) whom we know as Rambo did his owner very proud in their first Canine Freestyle competition.
Barbara Moyer told me about 3 years ago she wanted to compete in this venue with Rambo and she has done just that. She has overcome the obstacle of the intact male Doberman nose going to the floor.
On June 28th at the Chesapeake Rockin' Rovers Club they made an awesome debut earning a title in Beginner A Freestyle, Highest Artistic Content award, Most Hopeful Award, Best Focus and Attention Award at the Star Spangled Swing in Beltsville, MD. Their routine is done to the Frank Sinatra song "I Love Paris". The judge wrote a comment on their sheet saying Rambo even looked like Frank.  Here is a link to the video.
Watch all the way until the very end and you will see a truly happy owner and a "High 5" with Rambo.
