Update on Sawyer and Patty

This is a very talented dog and handler team.
Smack-Dab's PKG's Reason For Believing  (a.k.a. Sawyer)
and Patty Golfieri
I asked Patty to tell me what she accomplished in the past 3 days of her Agility Trials with Sawyer.  I'm going to directly quote her because I don't want to leave anything out.

"As far as what we accomplished this weekend, to start we got our last leg for our AXJ title, then we went on to get 2 legs for our MXJ and 1 leg towards our MX title, after we get those two titles there are no more higher level titles other than the MACH title to receive. We also received 48 points towards our MACH, not sure how many total points you need I believe it's 750, plus you need 20 dbl. Q's. The way the points are added up is by the seconds your runs are under the allowed time. For example, yesterday"s 1st place jumpers run we did in 28.02 seconds, and the actual time allowed for that run was 41 seconds, so we received 12 MACH points. Our Standard run Friday we received 20 points because he was 20 seconds under time. There's no doubt the points will come faster than the dbl Q's!! Anyway, we're back up there again this Friday. It's a very nice facility to run Agility in, and the drive to State College is pretty simple as well. After this Friday we don't have anymore trials in Feb. I had a goal to get Sawyer's MX and MXJ this Winter, so hopefully I will, and get back into the Schutzhund for awhile."
This is a very talented dog and handler team.  I am proud to know them.

Sawyer does it again!

Smack-Dab's PKG's Reason For Believing, we all know him as Sawyer, just earned his Agility Excellent title with a Double Qualifying score at the Agility Trial in State College, PA.  He placed 2nd is his Standard run and 1st is his Jumpers run.  The excited text message I just got from Patty reads  "WooHoo!!  Double Q and new AX title!  We are now headed to the Top 20!"
The "Top 20" is the group of Dobermans who earn enough points to qualify to compete in the Top 20 event at the DPCA Nationals.  I hope we will see them in Fort Mitchell Kentucky in October!

Sawyer loves to fetch the paper too.

Sawyer is the sire of Wiley's litter that is due February 8th.
Congratulations Patty and Sawyer!!!

Loki and Sigyn cross the Atlantic to their new home.

Said farewell to my friends Julian and Ivelina Parker today. They left the U.S. to return to the U.K. which is Julian's homeland. Their 2 Dobermans are Dillon's Remembrance and Dillon's Sigyn Warrior, a.k.a. Loki and Sigyn.  Praying for a safe flight to Amsterdam and safe passage by ferry to U.K. Quite a journey for all of them.  I have enjoyed their company and friendship over the years.

Loki is the black one.  Sigyn is the red one.

Julian has a great sense of humor!

Sigyn is beautifully dressed.

On their way to the U.K. they traveled by plane and ferry boat.  Here they are waiting to board the ferry in Amsterdam for the 7 hr trip across the North Sea.

The Queen Mum is happy to have them as neighbors.

January 2, 2012; A Sad Day for the Ansel Family

It is with great sadness that I inform you that Velma died tonight at 11:45 of sudden death.  She was a woofing, eating machine right up till the end.  Her last snack was leftover asparagus - I wish it had been steak.  Mike and I had just gone to bed and I heard her get up and make a weird choking noise (she slept in our room) - she was down and just about gone by the time I jumped out of bed.  I got to say goodbye to her just before she went to wherever good dogs go. We woke up the kids and the dogs to say goodbye to her - I will take her to the vet when they open in the morning for cremation.

I can't believe she is gone - I always thought she would live to 12 like her grandparents.  I am not having her posted since she was never bred. I think we can assume that it was an arrhythmia. She was a great dog and I will miss her forever.
Mary Jo Ansel

Dear Mary Jo,
I have tears of sadness and sincere sorrow for you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss.
Velma's life was wonderful with you.  I know she was the center of your attention for many years.
Today will be sad.  I do not envy your having to make the trip to the vet for cremation of Velma.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
If there was any choice to be made, I would have chosen to have Velma leave us in just the way she did.  Quietly with dignity, no heroics, no needles, and you by her side until the very end.
I'm sure your whole family spent a sleepless night. This morning something is surely missing in your routine. Take some comfort knowing that Velma is among friends, and you are too.
Thank you for giving Velma a wonderful life.

Very Sincerely Yours,
Nancy

Sorry, Had to delete a video . . . .

The video of Cobby X Sheeba pups at 8.5 weeks old had to be deleted.  YouTube said it had 3rd party copywritten content that I had to obtain permission to use.  It was the song that was playing on the radio while I was making the video.  I always have the country radio station on for the pups.  Anyone who has been here knows that.  Sorry to have to take than one off.  It was pretty good!
