Reflecting on the past few weeks; I have to say "thank you" to three owner/handlers who are starting their puppy's show career. All three of them took Reserve to some very nice dogs on their first time out from the 6-9 Puppy Class. Colt, Boomer, and Ali are from CH Blackjack's Red Sword of Camelot X Dillon's Stroke of Midnight (Ruger X Wiley). I am so fortunate to have them in committed show homes. I will always support, encourage and advise an owner/handler if they show the desire to Do It Yourself. If they want to jump off that cliff I will jump with them!
Handling your own dog in the Doberman breed ring is not for
the faint of heart but it can be a most rewarding hobby if you start out with the right puppy and work at it. It's important to tell your breeder from the very beginning what your intentions are because it makes a difference in the puppy chosen for you and by you. An Owner/Handler has an advantage over some of the professionals when the dog they are showing is a superior specimen of the breed.
These three special people are up to the task.
Thank you Lou, Jayne, and Ray! Zeus wishes all the luck to his little
